Import meet results
Bring official times into CoachBrighter from a HyTek CL2 file after a meet
After a meet runs, the host gives you a CL2 results file from HyTek Meet Manager. Importing it brings every official time, place, and split into CoachBrighter, where it updates personal bests, team records, and each swimmer's history automatically. Import it from the meet's Results tab.
How matching works
The one part of the import that needs your attention is matching the file's swimmers to your roster. CoachBrighter matches by name automatically and handles most swimmers on its own. For anyone it can't place — usually a spelling difference or a nickname — you decide per swimmer: match them to the right roster athlete, add them as a new athlete, or skip them. Skipped swimmers' results aren't imported, so only skip people who aren't on your team.
A CL2 file can contain several teams; pick yours when prompted so you don't import a competitor's swimmers.
What comes in
Both individual and relay results import in full: final times, places, DQ codes, and split times, plus the individual splits for each relay leg. Once you confirm, CoachBrighter recalculates personal bests and records and folds the new times into every swimmer's progression — there's nothing to update by hand.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid file format" — the file isn't a valid CL2. Re-export it from Meet Manager as a CL2.
"No teams found" — the file has no team data; ask the meet host to re-export it.
A lot of swimmers won't match — names in the file differ from your roster (spellings, nicknames). Match them once during import and future files line up.
Some results are missing — those events don't exist in your meet yet. Add the events, then re-import.
